Becoming More Effective in Networking

Virtually every job seeker hears that networking is the best and surest way to find jobs.  To some people networking comes fairly naturally, but to many networking is a difficult task.

In this workshop, the participants will learn:

  • What are the barriers to networking and why is it so difficult for many.
  • What are the various types of networking activities.
  • Strategies to overcome networking barriers.
  • Tactics that work in getting to meet strangers.
  • Follow-up methods to keep the network moving ahead.

Stan Brown has been working with people in transition since 1992 and is the founder and Board Chair of the Minneapolis Job Support Workshop.  He has considerable industry experience that covers marketing, marketing research, planning, manufacturing, engineering and finance.  He works as a Career Coach and as a consultant in Marketing primarily with large and medium sized firms.
