WOMEN'S NETWORKING GROUP - Meets the second Thursday of every month in the Parlor of the Church (opposite the Fireside Room) The Women's Networking Group is designed to address the issues that women face as they balance personal and professional priorities.
December's program will be How the Job Search Affects Our Families presented by Robert Riskin.
In this session, Rob will present insights and action points for both the job seeker and the job seeker's family. At best, the job search is not much fun and at worst it can be an "emotional roller coaster". The job seeker's spouse can be a source of encouragement and support, a sounding board and an observer of when the job seeker needs some extra resources. Or the spouse can be a detractor or a source of unreasonable pressure. The children in the family can also play a role, depending on their ages and their own emotional strength.
With a wealth of experience from many sides relating to job search, Robert Riskin will guide session participants into how they can play their roles most effectively and how they can ask for and receive family support. Robert is a dynamic and insightful presenter.
Robert Riskin has walked the walk, talked the talk and has the academic credentials bringing him even further insights. Equally important, he is a kind and caring professional who goes out of his way to help. Rob is Principal at Professional Life Resources and in his many former lives he worked in human resources, banking, He saw the boom and the bust in the Texas oil fields, outplacement (Drake, Beam, Morin; Market Source); Executive Search and wrote and published his own how-to book on job search, Between Opportunities.
